MDCC Office of College Advancement Thanks Community for Supporting Ongoing Feasibility Study

Moorhead, MS — The Office of College Advancement at Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) extends its sincere gratitude to alumni, community members, faculty, staff, and partners who have participated in the college’s ongoing Feasibility Study, a critical step in preparing for a potential capital campaign to strengthen facilities, programs, and student success initiatives.

Conducted in partnership with JF Smith Group, a nationally recognized fundraising consulting firm based in Auburn, Alabama, the feasibility study is designed to assess MDCC’s readiness to launch a comprehensive capital campaign. The study measures support for proposed projects, gauges community priorities, and identifies ways the college can best align its long-term goals with the needs of the Mississippi Delta region.

Over the past 6-8 weeks, nearly 75 in-person interviews have been conducted with stakeholders representing a wide cross-section of MDCC’s community—including alumni, business and civic leaders, faculty, and staff. Their candid feedback and vision for the college’s future are helping to shape a plan for growth and continued excellence.

In addition to these interviews, an online survey remains open to allow additional participants to share their thoughts. The college encourages anyone who has not yet taken part to contribute their perspective and help guide MDCC’s next chapter.

“Every conversation, survey, and shared perspective is invaluable,” said Alan Crews, Interim Director of College Advancement. “This study is about listening—understanding what our community values most and ensuring our vision for MDCC’s future reflects those priorities.”

As the feasibility study continues, the College Advancement team and JF Smith Group will compile findings to inform recommendations for a potential capital campaign. These insights will help MDCC strategically invest in modern facilities, innovative programs, and student-centered initiatives that ensure the college continues to serve as a cornerstone of opportunity and progress in the Delta.

“We are truly grateful for everyone who has shared their time, thoughts, and hopes for MDCC,” Crews added. “Your input will make all the difference as we work to build a stronger, more dynamic college for our students and community.”
